School banking

A School Banking Program is operated by the P&C at Banana State School. This is a way that you can help your child learn about saving.

It’s not always easy for children to understand the value of money—especially in our increasingly digital world. To help your child to develop their saving skills and learn to be more responsible with money, you can choose for them to be part of School Banking.

How it works

  • Children are encouraged to save a little money each week and bring it to school on a Thursday.
  • The money is deposited into their Youthsaver account and they can track their progress towards their goal in their School banking Dollarmires wallet or digitally via the CommBank Youth app.
  • Each time your child makes a deposit at school, they’ll receive a silver Dollarmites token.
  • Once they collect 10 tokens, they can redeem them for a Polar Savers reward.
