Welcome all parents, students and community members. At Banana State School we believe that teaching and learning is most effective when strong ‘partnerships’ exist between home and school. We aim to achieve this by delivering the Australian Curriculum through individualised instruction, developing a commitment to lifelong learning within a caring and supportive learning environment and actively seeking parental involvement within the school, with regard to both participation in school-based decision-making and resource sharing.
As a parent at Banana State School you can assist us to develop these positive partnerships in a number of ways, each of which we equally value, including assisting in the classroom, helping your children with homework, speaking tasks, reading, writing and maths, displaying at home your support of school policies regarding uniforms and behaviour management, participating in tuckshop rosters, attending school social functions and sports days, reading newsletters, attending and supporting the P&C through fundraising projects and functions, and answering surveys and questionnaires. Your ability to involve yourself within the school is often dependent on work, family and other various commitments and as a staff we realise and appreciate this.
